Differences on Interview process before and After Covid.

We will take last 20 years as reference and starting with year 2000.

Before year 2000 we have to search the openings from English Newspapers (The Hindu, Employment News) .We have to sent our  Resume via Post/courier .Organization  will  validate and call for interview via process  via  post(usually says call for letter).Every process will happen in the mode of letters.

After year 2000, we used to send e- mail to the mentioned mail id from the organization on the Job portal (Naukri/Monster) or their organization website. They will screen the profile and reply via email or call the person any phone number given in the resume.

1) Walk in

      Recruiters publish their openings in online job portal/Newspapers or informed to some consultancy. Consultancy or recruiters will validate the profile manually and schedule the interview date. Recruiters will pay for the consultancy once the candidate joined.There is some consultancy will get money from the candidates also from their monthly salary.

2) Referral

The openings are circulated by email within the organization to their employees. Employees may refer the openings to their friends or relatives.Intially referral employee will upload/share their resumes to their corporate and track the interview status for the candidate .Organization will give onetime referral bonus amount to the referred employee in their salary with tax deduction slab.

3) On Campus

This will happen only some good Government  colleges(IIT,REC(NIT),IRTT,ANNA University) during  year 2000.Top MNC’s(TCS,CTS,Infosys,IBM,..) will go with their recruitment panel. They will conduct aptitude test Logical problem solving, Group discussion and HR discussion for final year students. After the boom of IT, this was implemented with recognized private college institutes. College placement officer will call that MNC’s and provide all facilities to conduct their students

 

4) Off Campus

This type of interview will be used by students who have not joined in good institutions and rural areas students and those who have struggled and completed their degrees. It will be huge crowd and wait for all the process. Selected candidates  joining may or may not  be happen also if there is crisis on IT Industry due to some crisis(Economic down, Project deals not signed,layoff,Covid).

5)Mega Job Fair

This will be conducted by multiple MNC’s in major cities. All types of candidates will be participated either experienced or fresher.Resumes will be collected and they will call for interview later.if there is huge demand they may call you for further process.

6)Online

Recuriters are publishing their requirements in Socialmedia(Linkedin/Whatsapp).if the candidates having good or rare skillset in latest/trending  technology. Recruiters or candidates are reaching them via their social media’s.Profiles are screened via some artificial intelligence Application. During covid situation and after also they  started conducting virtual interviews using video calls  via Microsoft teams/whatsapp .This interview mode was done only  for abroad opportunities  earlier.

7)Organization APP Product

 

All big organization have developed their own Recruitment  Apps.This App will  screen the profile, schedule the interview and record the interview session.Recuriter will  update their feedback on the APP.HR will track all the interview workflow process that reduce their times and kept all the data in digital format.

Conclusion:

Technology has provided more features on interview process .It was utilized effectively in Covid situation and this will be followed in future. Be genuine  on  interview process it will be tracked anywhere .
